Linked Turns & Independent Skiing (Level 4)

Level 4 is designed for those who can confidently perform snowplough turns and control their speed through turning. At this stage, you should be able to link turns together and move down the slope in a controlled and consistent way.

This is a group lesson where you will be learning alongside others at the same stage, with the instructor guiding the group through each part of the session.

What to Expect

The session focuses on refining linked turns and building the confidence to ski independently across the slope.

You will continue developing your turning, aiming for smoother, more consistent linked turns with better flow and control. As confidence improves, you will begin to use more of the slope, moving with greater independence and less reliance on stopping.

There may also be an introduction to basic parallel movements as part of your progression, where appropriate.

Repetition is used throughout to build confidence, consistency, and control, helping movements become more natural and less forced.

Structure of the Session

Please arrive 30 minutes before your lesson time to allow for sign-in and equipment fitting.

Ski and boot fitting takes place before the lesson begins and is not included within the lesson time.

The 1-hour lesson refers to on-slope instruction only.

The session will take place on the slope, progressing as confidence and control improve.

Important Information

All participants in this lesson will be beginners and will progress through the session together at a steady pace.

Participants should wear suitable clothing, including long sleeves, long trousers, and gloves.

Standard ski gloves are not recommended, as they can become very hot and uncomfortable in typical UK conditions.

Helmets and boots are provided, but you are welcome to use your own if preferred.

The slope is mist-lubricated, so participants may get wet. A change of clothes is recommended.

What Happens Next

After completing Level 4, you will be ready to ski independently and may choose to continue developing your skills through private lessons or open practice sessions.
