These rules are in place to help keep all participants safe while using the slope and facilities.
Failure to follow instructor or staff guidance may result in removal from the slope without refund.
Participants using the slope for Open Practice must already be able to ski or snowboard competently and safely.
Skiers must be able to snowplough, turn, stop under control, and use the lift independently.
Snowboarders must be able to control speed safely and use the lift independently.
Anyone deemed unable to use the slope safely may be removed from the session without refund.
All bare skin must be covered
Gloves must be worn at all times
Helmets must be worn whilst on the slope
Facial piercings must be removed before taking part
No racing is permitted
No inverted jumps or flips are permitted
Instructions from staff and instructors must be followed at all times
Anyone behaving in a way that may endanger themselves or others will be removed from the slope immediately
No instruction other than by Knockhatch instructors is permitted
Participants must be signed in before entering the slope area
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to take part
The front foot must always be secured to the snowboard
Always check uphill before turning or changing direction
Snowboarding should not be attempted without suitable instruction or experience
This internationally recognised code applies to all slope users and is designed to help everyone ski and snowboard safely.
Always behave in a way that does not endanger or inconvenience other slope users.
Adapt your speed and skiing ability to the conditions of the slope and your surroundings.
The skier or snowboarder in front has priority. Always choose a route that avoids those below you.
You may overtake from either side, but must leave enough space for the other person to continue safely.
Always check uphill and downhill before starting, entering, or crossing the slope.
Avoid stopping in narrow areas or places with limited visibility. Where possible, stop at the side of the slope.
When walking up or down the slope, always keep to the side.
Always follow all slope signs, markings, and instructions from staff.
Anyone involved in or witnessing an accident should provide assistance where possible and alert staff immediately.
