Penguin Ski Lessons (Ages 7–9)

Penguin lessons are our private ski lessons designed specifically for children aged 7–9.

Lessons can be booked for 1, 2 or 3 children and offer a gentler-paced introduction to skiing, with plenty of time to build confidence, practise new skills and learn at a pace that suits the children.

What to Expect

Every Penguin lesson is adapted to the children taking part.

The smaller group size allows the instructor to give plenty of individual attention, while keeping the session relaxed, engaging and fun.

The focus is on building confidence, balance and control through repetition and guided practice, without putting unnecessary pressure on children to progress before they are ready.

If more than one child is taking part, the lesson will be taught at the level of the least experienced participant.

Structure of the Session

Penguin lessons are booked within a 1-hour private lesson slot.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your lesson time to allow for sign-in and equipment fitting.

Ski and boot fitting takes place before the lesson begins and is not included within the lesson time.

Children aged 7–9 can become tired more quickly than older skiers. If the instructor feels that a child has reached their limit, the on-slope lesson may finish after approximately 45 minutes rather than continuing for the full hour.

This is part of the structure of our Penguin lessons and helps us keep the experience positive, safe and enjoyable for younger skiers.

Important Information

• Penguin lessons are exclusively for children aged 7–9.
• Maximum of 3 children per lesson.
• All children taking part will be taught at the level of the least experienced participant.
• Penguin pricing is only available for children aged 7–9.
• If a Penguin lesson is booked for a participant outside this age range, the difference between the Penguin price and the appropriate Private Ski Lesson price will be payable on arrival.

Participants should wear suitable clothing, including long sleeves, long trousers and gloves.

Standard ski gloves are not recommended, as they can become very hot and uncomfortable in typical UK conditions.

Helmets and boots are provided, but children are welcome to use their own if preferred.

The slope is mist-lubricated, so participants may get wet. A change of clothes is recommended.

With a maximum of 3 children, the instructor can adapt the pace of the lesson, spend more time repeating skills where needed and allow children to build confidence without feeling rushed.

Please introduce your children to the Piste X Code — a fantastic interactive resource that teaches the rules of the slope and helps keep everyone safe on the mountain.

This includes understanding how to ski responsibly around others, such as giving way, stopping in safe places and being aware of those around you.
